Think this guy could be a half decent Gary Cahill type CB..

Won’t ever be a starter for Liverpool I’d guess with their new guy getting more game time at moment

Strong, organises well, seems to get his head or body to a lot of set pieces, decent passing.

Know he’s command a relatively big fee even though not proven but seems like he’s improved in the few games I’ve seen so could carry on improving.

And he trains with superstars so must get good practice in!

Just a thought for our desperately needed Cb position lowering of age and injury proneness!

I remember his father Jimmy playing for Bolton as a left-back.

I commented to my brother that if Liverpool were not going to bother playing him even with their CB injury crisis we should of gone in.

Good age, great in the air, decent composure, looks as though he still has a bit to learn but if we could get him he would no doubt be alongside a seasoned pro be it Cahill, Tomkins or Dann etc. and I think would have been/be great for us.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

For me its the type of signing we should be making, Burnley have done superbly picking up the big clubs cast offs like tripper, Mee and Keane.

That could be good news or bad news if someone like Leicester or Villa or West Ham come in with big offers

He would be a very good signing, but I suspect he will set his targets slightly higher than us. Mind you it depends on whether he wants game time. He would surely be the backbone of our defence for years to come.
