Hey there, anyone here have any knowledge or indeed contacts with a food prep/ delivery service- think meals on wheels, but I guess a notch up. Background My uncle is very high functioning autistic, lives on his own, is in his 60s and he basically lived off ready made meals from sainsburys etc - either microwave, oven or the occassional take away when on weekly trips. Cooking is not a strong point. He's in his 60s and he needs a healthier diet. Are there any good companies that deliver ready made meals (lunch/dinner) that he can store in fridge/freezer then eat during the week. The pandemic has naturally kept him indoors more, less access to restaurant and trips etc and we want to take that burden away of him having to prepare healthier meals from himself. Thanks in advance.

Wiltshire farm foods are one that has reasonable prices and quality. Part of the farm fresh group or something. Many older people use these companies as its invariably cheaper than buying to excess and having to use fuel and the time to cook. Then they just need bread milk ham or cheese etc, biccies etc.

Would second Wiltshire Farm Food - several of our more elderly neighbours have used them and been impressed with the quality. Also, strangely, the community hospital that I was in used some of their meals, and whilst some of the 'gravy' dishes (cottage pie, pork casserole, etc.) were a bit 'gloopy' for my taste, they seemed well cooked and had a decent taste to them.

Agreed Had them for my mother Effectively they do three levels, proper food, easy to eat food and total mush - like baby food. Clearly designed for the aged and helpful for those with dementia. Deliver a couple of times a week and will put them in the freezer for you. Order online or by phone. Good puds too.

Stay clear of 'HelloFresh' & Gausto, very expensive & VERY unhealthy
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
