My missus rang BT this morning because she’d noticed their bills creeping up recently (broadband, BT Sport, phone) and they’ve offered to knock off £60 a month and included Box Nation which I don’t think we had before as well as apparently speeding up the broadband.
Anyway, it’s worthwhile contacting your supplier(s) to see what they can offer because it’s more than they advertise via their apps.

Too right, every twelve months we threaten to change. They put our price down to new customer rates. The cost of a free phone call to save hundreds a year.

I would like to move from BT when my contract expires due to the rip off prices. I have not done so due to a rookie error.

I have used my BT email address as my main one which means I have at least 50+ online accounts which would need to change as well as informing family and friends etc.

Harbour Eagle pointed out that unless dealing with BT I should have used a portable email address like GMAIL as my main address, they don't care who your broadband provider is.

BT used to offer a free service then it was $1 per month just to keep your old email address today I believe it is £7 per month.

None of this stops me from moving I just don't have the energy to go through the grief.

So lesson for everyone your main email address should be portable.

Yahoo is ok as can access on desk top and mobile and it is free.
Tbh set up an address and get used to it then slowly inform people by sending them an email from it. Within a couple of months you wont need the bt one. Most companies have the facility on there websites to change the email address then wait for the first bill or correspondence from your new one and you know its live. Even if a company drops the ball later on then you have the evidence that it's their fault. Go for it. New year new badger

When I left Virgin they said I could keep my email account for six months . That was over three years ago and still active !

I hate BT.

To be fair, I hate Virgin, Sky, Talktalk, and that one in Yorkshire, equally.

My broadband is provided by Three.
For £20 I get unlimited data, and a router that is PnP. I have yet to have any issue with them, although my usage is just browsing, streaming TV & audio, and email/office stuff.

But the best bit is that I don't have a landline. No cost, no nuisance calls.

Win, win.

If you're looking for a portable email address with a difference, have a look at mail.com - they have over 200 domain names to choose from.

As I play in a couple of bands, I have an address xyz@musician.org - the domains are grouped by profession, hobby etc.
