...called George. 30th December.

big BLM demonstrations outside cop station.

riots at shopping centre.

Calls for revenge & retribution.

this story is massive on the grapevine & internet.

Yet the news outlets are writing a few bland cursory articles.

This incident has zero connection with ISIS or other terror related violence.

A number of politicians seem to be tweeting an opinion and then rapidly deleting their tweet.

Why have so few Londoners even heard of this news story ? an apparent Media Blackout , almost. Silence from the main telly news, recorded within a couple miles of the incident. Why ?

I initially thought you were talking about the black guy getting killed by the feds in Cleveland on dec 22, was on the news yesterday, they asked him to come out of the garage of the house he was staying at, he did just that, and was gunned down by a fed, who has since been sacked. The guilty feds partner, under interview, has said he didn"t pose a threat and was unarmed, she and others didn"t try and offer any assistance as he lay dying on the floor, until a senior fed turned up and told them top pump his chest! You couldn"t make it up, hope he goes to jail for a very long time- no doubt will offer the "mentally ill through stress" route and avoid the clink!

LOL. Indeed. And one further away from the UK in so so many ways.

Suspect that it is the Gay part that is throwing them. In the top-trumps of Identity Politics then the Gays trump the Blacks. Especially Africans.

Yes, true, but that incident bought half of America to its knees(pardon the pun,) and had worldwide consequences including the epl, no doubt we would have heard more about the incident in Ireland if London was bought to a standstill with statues torn down, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and Glasgow to, but it didn"t happen, so we didn"t hear as much about it.

the cops shot George dead minutes after he hospitalized a 5ft gay shop-assistant. Local supermarket.

there seems to currently be a controversy as to whether he was swinging a machete or a kitchen knife at the neck of the cop trying to subdue him. The video's keep getting deleted.

the taser & pepper spray all failed to slow him.

George Floyd, whatever his past might have been, was not resisting arrest but pleading for his life.

This guy had attacked an innocent person and was not only resisting arrest but using extreme life-threatening violence whilst doing so.

The colour of their skins ought not have made any difference but whilst it didn't in the second case it appears to have done in the first.

So there is an enormous difference in the relevance of these events. The media are quite right to cover one extensively and largely ignore the other. The fact that a few trouble makers try to exploit the situation doesn't change that.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

There is no evidence of racism in George Floyd's death.

Fabricated supposition.

My response you have replied to, was in response to a comment by Croydon Proud, nothing to do with the whys and wherefores of Floyd case.
I am sure the poor shop assistant and his family completely agree with you, that his attack doesn’t warrant media attention.

A country much closer to home and was British much more recently.

You cant throw a lot of the old arguments at the Irish though.

You cant claim its imperialist, or has a history of violence against minority groups, its much more difficult to claim it's not justified force, and its almost impossible to claim that these aren't just thugs using the death as an excuse for vandalism.

I cant help but wonder what might happen if they tried the same s*** in Belfast?
