Great to see Domonic Cummings recieved an £800 a week pay rise before he quit, it sounds a lot compared to the rest of us, but Domonic has a trained palet, he needs premium wines, not the rubbish the average person drinks, and needs to dine out in the finest establishments, which come at a price! While the public sector workers are on a pay freeze, and have a 2.5% fare rise on the train, remember people, we are all in this together! Sure Dom has resigned, but Boris rubber stamped the £800 a week, so maybe boris should carry the can?

Compare it to an executive of an advertising agency who convinced 17m people to buy into an idea.

It's peanuts to what he'll get outside of politics.

Only teachers are on a pay freeze, based on the nations current intelligence levels, they don't deserve one.

Not the same excuse as "they would earn a lot more in America?"A banker girlfriend of mine in New York said they don"t want them, they have enough unemployed top people already! Saying he would earn a lot more elsewhere, i"m not so sure, he was giving Boris bad advice on the corona virus from day one, not sure he"s that good. 45 k peanuts? You should go to lidl Jeegles!

Wrong I’m afraid, Not only teachers. All public sector except NHS. Wife works for BF most definitely on wage freeze, although you wouldn’t notice the difference given her less than 1% pay rises over last few years

Alastair Campbell hasn’t done too badly, and he supports Burnley!

The 45k is a pittance compared with the money he would have saved us with his scrutiny of the protected defence budget.

At least they have a job, hundreds of thousands in the private sector have lost theirs in the last 3 months. In the circumstances I think no pay rise but keep your job is a pretty good deal at the moment.

Fair enough. Most of the proper socialist I know are teacher (not economics teachers obviously), I was pretty pleased they got nothing.

Being less controversial, I think its going to be difficult for anyone to get a pay rise this year. With all the civil servants that have been furloughed, or are working from home and saving fortunes in travel its likely to be difficult to ask for more money.

With jobs where people have to go in, such as Boarder Force, people may argue that the airports have been empty all year. Its a hard sell to get more money unfortunately. Hopefully Brexit will help boost demand and wages for her job.

Just a bit rich when he was stating that others shouldn't get pay rises.
But perhaps he could use he use it to pay off part of the 50k of Council Tax he never paid, his new house having been built without planning permission and never declared to the Council.
