By a quarter to twelve last night I was very tired and by no means bereft of alcohol. So did I hear Jermaine Jenas say that for Spurs it was a case of gaining a point rather than losing two? And did Alex Scott say that Mourinho had been less than fair in his comments on Palace's performance? A good thing we'll be back to Lineker and his henchmen next week, otherwise we might start getting ideas above our station.

Yes she did, and she also said how impressed she was with Zaha, Eze and Benteke working in a pattern to assist and cover each other moving forward!

Alex Scott did say that but I think she misinterpreted what Jose was saying. He was paying us a compliment by saying we keep going and he’d told his team that we will make it very difficult for them. But she pointed out that he said we’d put balls into the box whereas she said we were playing good football.

Jermaine Jenas is my preferred MOTD pundit. I like Danny Murphy who is a big fan of Roy. On talksport yesterday he said he was covering the Palace game and was starting to sing Palaces praises when Jim “big club” White interrupted by saying “ yes they were good, let’s talk Arsenal”

Murphy played under Hodgson at Fulham, but he was signed by Lawrie Sanchez. Murphy is a real student of the game and some while ago Martin Tyler asserted that he believed Murphy would be a manager some day. Edited by Willo (15 Dec 2020 10.51am)

But to call it a report is a misuse of the word. It consisted of 11 paragraphs, 10 of them about Spurs (including one which was entirely about Bale, who of course wasn't even playing).

This is a common occurrence in the media especially if you are a lower league club because you don't get much visibility. If you're lucky you get a couple of paragraphs about the game. On many occasions I have seen so called match reports that deviate onto some irrelevance and fail to err mention the match. Quality journalism.

Her analysis was great and spot on with these three. She really knows her stuff and actually does her background research unlike a lot of pundits these days.
