Well done the High Court common sense at last

[Link]

Children cannot possible understand the consequences of this life changing decision.

The decision was opposed by the Tavistock Centre which is the main Trans hospital in the country. There are a lot of disturbing rumours about how the trust is pro Trans and does not handle patients in a dispassionate manner hence this lawsuit.

I suspect that in years to come there will be an inquiry into the management.

I am not anti Trans I just don't think children should be pushed down this path, this has to be an informed decision by an adult.

A rare victory for common sense in this lunatic era.

Today's institutions are run by idealogs.....if and when the day comes when they are held to account I truly hope that it won't just be them....but more importantly those that appointed them must answer for the life altering and some cases life ruining decisions on children far too young to understand the longer term consequences.

If someone is mentally and physically an adult and insists on this....that's one thing. However, a child?

That's a sick society.

I totally agree with the above sentiments. These days kids are confused enough. What makes me laugh is there were kids at school in my day (the 70s) who we all knew were gay. We didn't make a big deal out of it if they wanted to dress like a girl and play with the girls. We treated them just the same - we respected the choice without particularly caring. Why the big deal all the time now? We literally bend over backwards for rights that just aren't necessary or helpful to anyone. So many classic examples now, we have hit to the stage where we need to protect average people's rights against the madness.

If I'm allowed to use the term; 70% of sex change patients are proved to have concerns about their decision within 15 years. Many take their own lives in this time. Not enough time is spent discussing it before hand and that's with adults as well.

That's my concern suicide rates amongst people who have transitioned are higher than the general population but any professional who raises this as an area to be researched faces the wrath of the LGBTQ community.

There have been lots of complaints that the Tavistock Trust is so pro trans that they are pushing kids into this rather than providing support and counselling until they are old enough to decide.

I believe this is a scandal in the making.

Maybe not but an awful lot of good people have been trolled and de platformed and even lost their jobs. Top reporter at the Guardian was driven out last week because of mild criticism of the Trans lobby her own colleagues turned on her.

They are a bigger threat to free speech than the far right.

A good step, BOYCOTT STARBUCKS

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

On paper this sounds like a good ruling but it's only partially a good thing.

The age restriction is wrong these type of people need to be under treatment before 16 you can't have them going through full puberty this is terrible for them physically but especially mentally.

The other thing is the system is not quick so if you make them wait until 16 well they wont be on any treatment until around another 2 years later they may also need to fund it themselves by this time the stats show suicide etc rates are very high for this group

12-13 is more realistic age and it's not as if they just let people switch it requires a lot of sessions to access people by psychiatrists

The whole argument about 14 year old etc doesn't understand is complete BS you see a fair amount of this age group having children themselves it's just now days it's all about keeping them in comfy blanket and nanny them.

Indeed the 'far right' aren't even afforded free speech in this country.

Indeed, as soon as they open up in Wisbech I shall be boycotting them.

They will be quaking in their beans.
