Hasn't played a single minute in he PL his season. Good central midfielder though, would be great as a Cabaye replacement we've been searching for. I wonder what price they'd ask though...

He played 15 games in the PL last season under Arteta but I suspect all or nearly all were from the bench.
This season he has played 6 games but none in the PL.
Energetic, combative and a good passer of the ball.

He has played in all their Europa League games and particularly impressed in the 4-1 win against Molde. Martin Keown thinks he would benefit from going out on loan

Who would he replace in our starting XI if he came to us on loan in January?

At the moment, our field players look like this: Clyne (Ward), Cahill (Tomkins if fully recovered), Sakho (Dann), PVA (Mitchell)- Kouyate (McCarthy), Riedewald (Milivojevic)- Eze (Townsend), Jordan (Macca more defensive), Zaha (Schlupp)- Batshuayi (Benteke).

Plus Kelly, Ferguson, Meyer, Wickham, who are down the pecking order. Willock wouldd play central.midfielder playmaker or behind the main striker.

Thanks.

As Ken Dodd used to say - What a lovely day; what a lovely day for showing that I am not getting to Selhurst Park often enough.

I wouldn’t mind him at the end of the season as a purchase, I like him and think he has potential. But on loan it’s a waste of time same as Gallagher. We have quite a stacked midfield. I think Riedewald is the future and we have plenty of options to partner him. The 2 Maccas, Luka and Kouyate (arguably he’s fully a CB these days) are all competing for one spot.

At Maccas age and with Luka’s form fallen off a cliff it’s definitely a long term hole we need to fill, but for this season I think it’s not necessary and is something we could address in the summer. Unless any loan deal we arrange had an option to purchase in the summer.

That's not quite fair...but yes, I take your point.
