To be announced.

All a bit sh@te.

If we thought there were mental health issues last time, try lockdown in November in the cold, dark and rain.

Will wait to see what is said but personally I’d rather try and carry on with society.

I agree, total lockdown is too much of a blunt instrument and will further seriously damage an already fragile economy, leading to huge unemployment levels and hardship.

Some areas of England have very few covid infections, other areas being seemingly out of control.Appropriate targeting probably remains the best option, despite the shouting from the millionaire champagne socialist leader,Starmer, using the crisis for political ends.

The lunacy and hysteria continues unabated. We're at the point where a judgement call is going to have to be made about whether it's worth trashing the economy and the social structure of the country for a virus that has a survival rate of >99%.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

That's not the choice, well it certainly shouldn't have been if the tracking systems were sorted and letting people go all over the place on holidays was stopped, amongst other things that could have been done to reduce contagion. Throw in a complete inability of children, young adults and drunk people to stay out of each others personal space and what other options is there?

Now it's a simple choice between hospitals being overrun or not. Sh1t indecisive management leaves binary choices. Hopefully they will learn and we won't be going through 3rd and 4th waves.

But the hospitals weren’t overrun last time were they? Was the O2 ever used?
Outbound travel to be stopped but not inbound!! WTF is that all about? Wife just come home from work, having spoken to a family of Bulgarians coming to visit family and allegedly staying in a caravan in the garden!! But we can’t visit our daughter, they can f*** right off

Good to see how that political opportunist, millionaire Sir Quier is trying to maximise this crisis for his own ends ,just as if he could have done any better in controlling virus spread.
Just look over the water to see other nations struggling to cope.

Below 55 continue as usual and keep the economy going. Over 55 or below 55 and vulnerable should shield at home.

Herd immunity achieved in 3 months, hospital admission and deaths low and return to normality.

A chap I met 3 weeks ago knows nobody who has been diagnosed with covid but knows 2 who have committed suicide as a consequence of covid.

I’d be interested to see increase in suicide deaths vs Covid deaths if anyone has them.

a deep economic recession has always killed large numbers of people.....one way or another. But it is a silent killer.

A bit like smoking & lung cancer....there is a very clear correlation but it is less dramatic than a shooting in the High Street.

You cannot stop the tides, and you cannot stop a flu pandemic.

Sensible comments here. I’m just waiting for the lockdown supporters to get involved. They are easy to spot, they don’t have a financial worry in the world and are happy to shut down everything to keep themselves safe.

I agree the ones that need to shelter should and the rest get on with it the age thing is not correct its more about your health status.

No such thing as herd immunity its simple your immune system can deal with it or it cant then you have it can with aid.

This is just like the flu but it is more rapid and can leave long term damage due to how aggressive immune system responds.

The whole how many people you know etc is just more rubbish as well testing is only done to people who have symptoms and even then lots of people do not have symptoms but can still have it so it's meaningless.

The suicides are nothing to do with this those people would of had issues already it's typical of people now days always making excuses or trying to put drama spins on things.

Regarding this second lock down complete waste of time should of done it correctly first time this govt is weak and doesn't have a clue what they are doing my wife has said this many times from the beginning and is glad she didn't stay here the country she is in and works in a hospital in fact runs the icu tropical/infectious diseases department has had hardly any cases not even 100 deaths.
