3 weeks into growing one, I have to say it's a strange feeling around my face , it looks good ( according to my wife ) but can't see me keeping it much longer.

Beards suit some people but sometimes they do not enhance one's appearance whatsoever. I suppose if one is a jowly old boy, a beard can cover up evidence of the passage of time. Edited by Willo (26 Oct 2020 9.25am)

if your jowls don't quiver like port jelly what do they quiver like, cold aspic, a hippo's scrotum? I have sported whiskers since I turned 40, after my mother passed away actually, didn't have the energy to shave and have kept it that way ever since. Started with full growth but now have sculpted goatiness to hide the odd bit of port jelly which has settled in over the years.

Too many James O’Brien socialist/communist types in scruffy beards for my liking. Need culling.

I readily accept that I am NO expert on Hippos scrotums.I re-iterate that I am blessed that even at my age of nearly 68, I am not a jowly old boy. Returning to beards, I have to assert I don't like the look of those "ZZ Top" beards nor those ones with attachments which hang down below the chin.

Beards should be like f@nnys. Neatly trimmed and with plenty of space for a tongue to operate without getting hair on it

Beards have been the saviour for ugly men who without them would have been virgins well into their 30's. Luckily for me, I'm quite the stunner, which is fortunate as anything beyond about 0.5cm of stubble irritates the life out of me. Being in lockdown and working from home has meant I shave less often and I end up trying to Swayze Roadhouse my own throat by about day 4, it's so itchy and irritating.
