Especially Jacob, from Newcastle. His brother Josh is very trick, but lazier. You can compare the 2 easily regarding work rate.

I've seen Jacob given a chance in the Cup game for Newcastle and, although the opponent was very poor, he did mange a couple of assists. I don't think he is a bad player for 25 years, but he isn't close to the first 22 players at Newcastle. They rather use at wingers ASM, Fraser, Ritchie, even Hendrick or Almiron. Jacob is way down the pecking order and I suspect they want to cash in and would sell for a mere 5 million or somewhere around that, even though they paid for him about 10 when they transferred him.

To be honest, I don't see Alain Saint Maximin much better than him, but the price dufference is of about 30 million as per what Newcastle would be asking. And Fraser doesn't have that many years left in him, while Jacob may actually be a good player for the future.

Comparing him to Benrahma, 5 million on a 25 year old Jacob than 20-25 million on a 25 year old Benrahma would be imo preferable. Their records in the Championship are as following:

Jacob Murphy- 34 goals and assists in 5300 minutes

Said Benrahma- 48 goals and assists in 6300 minutes

Of course, Jacob wasn't as impressive in the Premier League after that, but we don't know how impressive Benrahma eill be either. We can only speculate.

Jacob played mostly on the right in his career, but hasn't really disappointed on the left either- 24 goals and assists in his career in the low level in 4800 minutes. I can see him more like a left winger myself. He has the technique, the dribbling, the pace.

Fraser's only a year older than Murphy. We don't really need a left-sided player, what we need is a right-sided player. My concern would be that Newcastle have in the past set up similarly to Palace, with a defensive setup and quick counter-attacks; if he has failed to make a mark there why would he make one with us?
