I'm not really one for fashion or indeed form over function generally. Still, that doesn't mean that aesthetics doesn't have its place and when it comes to football shirts we have a huge industry pump9ing out designs every year....So there's a lot out there. So the question is what's been your favourite Palace shirt design over the years and what's your favourite team shirts for other teams. For me, with Palace it's always going to be that home 1979 shirt that horizontal design against a white background....though I liked the design in 1972-1973 as well. For other teams I have an affection for England's 66 red and the dark blue of Chelsea in the seventies was always striking.....as was most of the country at the time.

Palace were always the Sash for me. I do like the black away kits too - which I tend to buy when they're reduced at the end of the season. I don't think they're that original but black tends to hide the belly and look somewhat cool.

When are we going to get that back on a home shirt?....it's been ages. I agree complex coloured/shaped designs seem a bit pants on a football shirt. Yep, personally I'd only wear a Palace or England shirt.

Same for me, but that’s probably due to us being the same age. You 26 as well then Tom? The away shirt is great...I'll always see the Palace as the sash...but as you say that's probably due to us having experienced that era of Palace. Back when it was all in black and white.

I doubt we will ever see a sash first shirt again as it does not sit well with a nice big bold overseas betting sponsor on the front. Look at Southampton who have a sash home shirt. Its all about money. On the assumption home kit is worn more and sells more they want a nice big walking billboard that shows up on TV. Fan opinion doesn't really matter.
