Get a grip, we won our opening game, we’ve made positive signings give it some time, regardless of what you wish for in this warped idea let’s play ‘Brazil’ style football.. we will be safe for another year in the prem under Hodgson like we have been in all of the 3 he’s been here. No need to throw the toys out the pram cause we’ve been nocked out the man city cup which we would have got knocked out (to city ) next round anyways.

I’m not a Roy supporter but I agree that up until now he has not been backed in the market, so I need to see at least a third of a season with new players to see if it is his tactics or the players that are at fault for our dour negative football. If he is as good a manager as some on here think, he should be able to adapt our style to suit the new players we have. At present the Jury is out and I would say it is too early for this thread.

That was a terrible game, but it is clear from our performances in this cup in recent times that we don't really want to be in it. Luka's penalty at the end was the equivalent of the boy picking his ball up and saying "right, that's enough, I'm going home for my tea". No stand out performances good or bad. Only highlight was Eze's cheeky penalty. Roy seemed to indiacte post-match that what little interest evaporated as soon as they announced when the City fixture would be played. If we play like last season over the next few months then with the new signings we have I too would be questioning the decision to keep Roy at the helm, but not after tonight, and certainly not after Southampton when there were signs we are going to be more of a threat. P.s. could the players all chip in and refund us our tenner?

Not a big Roy fan but his job is to keep us in the premier league not win the Mickey Mouse cup. It was literally like a training session for new signings and squad players and Bournemouth played a strong team tbf.

Don’t forget the next round is on Thursday week, away and we are home to Everton on the Saturday

Zaha’s looked good pre-season, and we won our opening league fixture (which is more important), so I’d quit stamping your feet like a giant toddler.

I give you A.W.Bissaka........ AWB was always a good player, but there's no way Hodgson would have played him had we not had injuries which forced his hand.

We need to see how things look at New Year when we are scheduled to have played 16 league games (Covid permitting). By then we should have a good idea of how we are likely to do during the rest of the season, whether there have been any changes to our style of play and whether we think RH is doing a decent job with the resources at his disposal (there's still 3 weeks of the transfer window in which there could be incomings and outgoings). I'm neither pro nor anti RH, just a Palace fan who recognizes pragmatism when it's needed.

If he has 'always' been a good player then strange that no manager before Roy played him. But the comment was in response to the plainly false claim that no player has improved under Roy. Clearly AWB did, also Mitchell, Ayew, Kelly, Guaita, Reidewald, others?
