Well really the best player in the world should have been here years ago. The club's at the bottom of La Liga are a joke.

EVERY game in the prem is tough.

630 million quid paid by citeh.

33 years old.

Will Messi shine or will it be a rude awakening in a very physical league ?

Really don't think he's the best in the world. Guys like Mbappe have overtaken him now. And personally, I'd still pick Ronaldo.

More to your point though, I think he'll get a rude awakening. Like you say, it's a tougher league. More physical league. Crap weather.

Well he hasn’t signed yet

Will be excited to see him if he does. Not sure when we play Man City at home, hope it’s when the crowds are back in, ie after the us elections ; )

Eden hazard , Kevin De bruyne , muller , neymar and half a dozen others putting serious pressure on the title ' best player in world'.

Remember when our Damien Delaney 'owned' Diego costa ?

Well boys. Messi at selhurst sounds like a great challenge for any eagle.

What players will be visiting Charlton this autumn ?

Could he not take some of the blame for the humiliation by Bayern? This is more media shyte and has nothing to do with football.
In fact, this is a travesty, an already rich man to get even richer because he had a bit of a barney with the club that brought him into the liemlight.
Plus, he's well past his peak: he's not worth the money. It may be Man City but they are not going to be selling that many shirts, in fact Utd or Liverpool would have a better chance that way. Man City have failed to resonate with fans as they have just bought titles. Additionally, if Mbappe and a couple of others start to improve, then this love in with Ronaldo and Messi will be over.
I've always preferred Messi to Ronaldo but this latest move smacks of greed of the highest order. And Ronaldo now looks by far the fitter. Ronaldo would win Man City the title, I'm not 100% sure that the 33yr old Messi is that much better than the potential of Jesus or the current Aguerro. Waste of money. A few years ago, great - not now, farcical.

Correct.

we saw a much diminished Messi yesterday. Great skill, but not got the pace, nor strength, nor stamina anymore.

Pundits talking of him leaving Barca. Having already outstayed his welcome.

Would he fit into a Prem relegation dogfight ? because probably by the start of next season he will be too old for a Top 6 prem squad.

Good for 75 minutes of play.

oh how the mighty have fallen !

Imagine Messi the super-sub, come on to score a winner in the last ten minutes of a game.

I thought he recently signed the biggest overall contract in sport? Worth 555,000,000 overall. I presume euro. I have no idea how much per year or week. I suspect a lot of it is to do with shirt sales, advertising, sponsorship and merchandising.

Ronaldo has played for the biggest clubs in 3 countries, plus his national side = 4 countries.

And won a ton of silverware.

I believe Ronaldo wants to be the next alex Ferguson/Carlo Ancelotti/Zidane.

Messi may or may not be the better footballer. But Ronaldo will be the next superstar manager. Not Messi.

He's not. In my opinion.
