This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Depends on how much a player enjoys playing football. I think I'm right in saying that one or two ex Palace players played in the Croydon Sunday League for a little while

This year is the first since 2005 to see the Champions League quarter finals without Messi & Ronaldo.

In another 18 months they could both be in the transfer market for teams at the bottom of the premier league. Looking for player-manager roles. And both shocked at how tough life is in a relegation struggle.

'old man time' is vicious fecker

this is all about the individual and whether they play for the love of the game, or themselves. I have respect for those that do drop down the divisions and modify their position/approach to the game. It's important to recognise when you've peaked and not kid yourself and others (Michael Owen). Look at Rooney, in 15-year's time, if he's not in management he'll probably be playing Sunday League because he enjoys a kick-about.

I am just glad the Palace team didn't quit at the top of their game otherwise we wouldn't have any players left.
