A scene that would never be in a new film promoting violence no wonder some women think it's ok to hit a man.

In the 'equality' world pushed by activists it isn't....well for the vanishingly small number of them that care about double standards that is.

However, is this really what men want?

Apart from the impossible and dubious ideal of 'equality' a situation where we treat the damage potential of a female fist and male fist as equal is unrealistic.

We know that 'progressives' choose to ignore or deny a large range of physical realities in the world but this is one particular reality that plenty are happy to cling to.....mainly because it's anti male...so it's fine for them due to their oppressor/oppressed worldview.

To me, it's just not ok for a male to strike a woman (with genuine self defence or life saving exceptions) down to the fact that any serious strike is going to deal damage......whereas on the other footing (with exceptions) that damage is lower.

This doesn't excuse women who take advantage of that and society's dismissive attitude towards it (including me) to inflict violence against males they know won't hit back....either out of principle or nature.

So I'd say that this is an inequality that most of us know exists and that most of us accept.

In a world of sensible people we could expect a nuanced addressing of each situation without an ideological lens reflecting upon it.

But we don't live in those times now.

Sensible post Sterling... I must admit towards the end of my 18 years in the old bill the number of domestics I went to where a woman was the out and out aggressor towards the man was becoming more and more frequent..

There is still that taboo where men will not report being hit by there female partner, I found due to embarrassment for most of these men more than anything else.

I agree with your stance on men hitting women though.. We are capable of causing some serious damage.. I'm no hard man but I'm 6'2" 17 stone and played as a prop for many years so I'm not a small guy. I've only ever hit one woman in my life and that was on duty and she tried to stab me in the neck with a 10" kitchen knife. I punched her once and fractured her eye socket and knocked her out...

Justified?... Absolutely.. but it still didn't stop a part of me feeling bad... She actually ended up being charged with attempted murder on me and was found not guilty at court due to her mental health issues!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

The old mental health issue eh.....it's a kind of funny world where a criminal gets off because they aren't mentally normal.

Well if it's not acceptable for a man to hit a woman ?

Could he pay a professional woman to give a good kicking to Myra Hindley ?

She wouldn't just have to be professional, she'd have to be super-natural.

I was in a pub in Hounslow when a massive fight broke out between rival travellers. Someone let off a tear gas cannister. I was sat at the bar and a traveller woman was emerging from the smoke, coming straight for me with a broken bottle. I thought I hit her quite softly but she went flying across the room and was rolling around on the floor. I felt slightly guilty, but carried on drinking. Either her or me was my attitude.

Very brave. There are a group of travellers in Lewisham they are barred from every pub for fighting, its the women who start it then their husbands / brothers pile in.

I would always avoid a fight with them they hunt in packs and if they lose they hold a grudge.

And the men are even worse.

When someone throws a punch they should have the good sense to know that for all of the rights or wrongs of it they have radically increased the chance of the favour being returned.

Oh, what a night, you know I didn't even know her name
But I was never gonna be the same
What a lady, what a night
Oh, I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room
Oh my, as I recall it ended much too soon
