OK, so the season is over and love it or hate it (in a perverse way I love it) the transfer window is open and the mad hope and speculation about signings begins. Fans, agents and journalists throw names around like confetti. Let's have some fun. We are looking for players who will reduce the average age of the squad, I think we are all agreed on that. I think reality is we do not have a big transfer kitty this year (we have to assume we don't get an offer for Wilf). You have 30 million to spend. Ferguson has taken up 4 million so you have 26 million left. Who do you buy within that budget that gives you a transfer window that you feel you have done good buisness and signed players in positions we need. (Try to keep fees realistic and remember if a player is a free transfer and under 23 compensation has to be paid that comes out your budget). Be interesting to see people's thoughts. Ollie Watkins is a must as far as I'm concerned (if Brentford don't go up). I don't know what they want for him but I reckon that would be the majority of the 26 mill gone. 30 million isn't enough to solve our problems.

Honestly without selling Zaha, which isn't guaranteed by a long shot I'm far from convinced we even have 30 mill.

However...are we allowed to get more million more if we were to sell Benteke, Meyer, van Aanholt, Milivojevic, Schlupp, Townsend?

Again we are not guaranteed any sales we don't have time to sell before we buy. Also, hate to say it im not sure their would ve many if any suites for their services. From what I read the transfer period will be extended qell into September, after the atart of the season, so I expect the same sales that would have normally been done to eventually get done, but later. I know Townsend had plentyod PL suitors, with Newcastle wanting him back and I think he has become pretty stale here so I fully expect him to leave this summer at 29. Probably last chance to sell PVA too as hjs contract goes until 2021. Either take the 10 million you can get for him now or offer him another contract and keep him until he's 35. Same for Benteke. It's time. Meyer is still young and could be kept.

Personally think it would be negative move to sell PVA he is one of our best attacking players! We can't afford the risk of losing him. Townsend has been very disappointing and has gone backwards and can't see Newcastle wanting to go for him anymore, especially as they are in a bit of a limbo over the new ownership so can't see them buying an older player and having to commit to him for a longer contract to entice him. As for Tekkers nobody has ever seriously gone after him for as long as we have had him and after this season cant see that changing now.
