Just a thought - it's just 'normal' people and 'normal' situations seem paradoxically rare. I'm of the view make sense and normal will look after itself, and aiming for the norm is putting the cart before the horse. Seems obvious it's just I've seen a lot of people in care situations completely misinterpret behaviour they don't understand and use labels instead, and I think it's got something to do with a misguided view of 'normal'.

No word is intrinsically dangerous it is just how they may be employed by people to mislead and obfuscate
( I've been wanting to use that word for ages).

The world is full of doublespeak.
