Song by rapper Scrobius Pip from a while back but pretty apt at this moment in time as we are suffering the effects of this pandemic going around the world. Edited by sitdownstandup (10 Apr 2020 12.48pm)
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping. Hubert Reeves |

Yeah it's a mad track. The backing makes it sound even better. For anyone who hasn't watched it, heard it and can't be bothered here's the lyrics... they're a bit long mind: Hey There, how, how's it going? But I've been keeping an eye on you, I have, So I'm writing to apologize for all the horrors committed in my name, Religion became a tool, for the weak to control the strong I made the sun an appropriate distance and laid the stars across the sky I didn't know such development would cause rifts and jealousy It was You that invented bombs, and the fear that comes with them So I apologize for any mistakes I made, and when my words misconstrued END

Edited by sitdownstandup (10 Apr 2020 6.28pm) What a load of hippy cobblers. God does not exist and if 'he' did, he would not write such a stupid song.

I aint sure about the existence of God but if he does exist and he cares about what goes on on the planet then I think there'd be a lot worse songs he could have written.

Edited by sitdownstandup (11 Apr 2020 5.38am) That is a lot of speculation and a huge dose of sentimentality. The only way to 'rescue' our little planet from these problems is to reduce the human population significantly, but the same kind of sentimentality that makes you worry about animals and trees prevents us from doing what needs to be done. We have to sterilise a large chunk of the population, especially in the poorer countries, and force the greedier ones to use fewer resources. Happy days.

One of the reasons the track is so good is that it works regardless of whether you believe in God or not. The song's main message is that if there is some kind of God, it's hugely unlikely they'd care about the trivialities (sexuality, wearing a veil etc.) which the purveyors of organised religion seem to think are so important. Effectively the track is a plea for Humanism. Its message is that even if there is a God, it's still up to humans to try and not mess everything up. Edited by SamCPFC17 (11 Apr 2020 12.40pm)

But there are worse songs he could have written aren't there? Or maybe this is actually the worst song ever written by him or anybody else in history which is a bit of an achievement too I guess.

The song is religious/hippy twaddle but then most songs are twaddle.
