It has been said that players may need a short pre-season to be ready for a serious game. I wonder which group of away supporters will be the next to see a Palace team in action? Who knows, it might be televised. Something for away supporters to comment on.

Apropos a return to football in England, the feeling appears to be that If there is the resumption of the season, games will be played behind closed doors. One factor is VAR whereby the VAR and assistants are seated close together in a 'Bunker'.One cannot have most of the season under VAR and the rest without any VAR. I am pondering as to the relevance of this post. Half joke, half serious. Who really knows? I don’t think unnecessary flights from anywhere to anywhere, no matter how safe and under control they are, are perhaps the best thing to do, or the best message to be sending out.

Like many others I am wondering when the map of a way forward will be available. There is the need for all players - in any division - to restore their match fitness, and for supporters to be able to celebrate attending matches again. Crawley Town has been mentioned. Subject to their pitch being able to take the strain the good people of Crawley would be cheered by a festival of football from one Saturday to the next (eight days, four matches - which could feel like four cup matches). This approach would give money to lower league clubs. I hope my putting up my sometimes unique thoughts for discussion does not cause doubt regarding my fitness to post.
