I have just read the Scowcroft interview on the official site. I was wondering whether he would mention the Wolves goal because having seen some great goals down the decades that one always comes to mind first. I was standing more or less in line with him - in the stands I hasten to add - and it was such a cracker. What I had not realised until reading the piece just now was that it was Palace's Goal of the Season - Doh!
Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |

I was at the wolves game and well remember that goal! Even the Wolves fans stood and applauded. I am pretty sure that we went on to win 3-0. It was just one of those days where everything went for us. A great away Day! I liked Jamie Scowcroft. I think he was a bit like Alan Lee if maybe a bit more mobile!

I believe we did beat Wolves 3-0 away from home. Scowcroft was signed by Peter Taylor. He was a target man who was certainly not that fleet of foot but he was good aerially and adept at retaining possession waiting for the support players to arrive.

Green was quite useful and I remember Ifill scoring a late winner away at Southend on a Tuesday night. Dave Martin was a tricky winger with a small peanut head. Jeff Hughes and Scott Blunders were utter pony. Did Idrizaj even play? I recognise the name but can't picture him.

Scott Flinders has been playing for Cheltenham this season.Whilst he was at Hartlepool he was dubbed "Cinders" by their supporters as he always gets to the ball! Idrizaj played 7 games for us affter we signed him on loan from Liverpool. Edited by Willo (17 Apr 2020 4.41pm)
