Obviously our best ever performance under Hodgson. Was watching this on YouTube yesterday, which is on there in HD if anyone wants to watch it, in these troubling times.

In midfield that day Loftus-Cheek and Cabaye. Just watching the highlight's, I was there that day too,but the memory fades. Did we underestimate how good Cabaye was? Just watching him play the simple passes, defence and attack, keeping the play ticking over, Did we expect too much? Did we expect Alonso 50 yard passes, and half way line goals?

I know many fans appreciated him, but many didn't, just watching those brief highlights again, has certainly made me miss him.

Stay safe, and let's hope we'll all be watching Palace again soon.

Cabaye was a real workhorse. He did the simple things well. He had flair maybe early on but never really showed the same goal scoring form he had for Newcastle.
In fact, for us, he was rubbish at corners and free kicks.
We have never replaced his dynamism though. Perhaps now the two j-macs can do the same.

Agree with this... He scored spectacular goals for Newcastle and I think a lot of us felt he would do the same for us, especially free kicks and it just didn’t come off for us.

He was one of them players that we didn’t realise how much we missed him until he was gone. Personally I feel we didn’t see the best of him in a Palace shirt.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

I guess we had him the tail-end of his career so we didn't see him at his very best. Nevertheless, he gave his all for us and as has been suggested was of more value than we perhaps realised at the time.

And! .. there was that great strike against Arsenal!

When a player plays for another team, especially Newcastle, we see there best bits on TV, but don't see the rest of there play.

We bought him for just over 10 million, which seems like an absolute bargain nowadays. For me he was our first big name signing in the premiership, and I was over the moon when we signed him.

Did he deliver over those 3 years? For me its a yes, never forget that game away to Norwich when he made his debut and scored. Also think we miss his winding the opposition up, and in the ref's face constantly, there was so much more to his game, but we expected the world class stuff constantly.

As has been said, his biggest disappointment was his corner kick's, free kicks, and penalties. He should have delivered more.

The Leicester 5-0 was my eldest sons wedding day. We getting sciore flashes through the afternoon. I thought it was a wind up when we were told that CB had scored. A great day all round! And yes, I think we are perhaps only now realising how important Cabaye was to us.

I wish we could miss Wilf constantly being in the ref's face. Quite happy, though, with his winding up Brighton and Watford.
