At what stage do you stop paying for sky sports with no live sport on the horizon? Would be interested in any thoughts on this.

If you’re under a new contract you probably can’t, and if you cancel your current one I wonder what they do with their prices and how many come back and/or find other ways of watching sports for a fraction of the cost. (Of course if everyone did this the televised sport would dry up. This is a bit fascinating to see how it goes)

I expect prices for returning customers might not start very favourable to begin with rather than the other way round.

I’ve got quite bored of live televised football as a neutral anyway. Loads of low possession teams either having to or choosing to. I get plenty at Selhurst.

I know BT have already said it will refuse to refund their customers of BT Sport for lost matches, also stating that anybody cancelling their package will face 'further action'. Not sure how many people they've got compared to Sky(they are going to do same), but, i cant see them taking everyone of their customers to court if people cancel their contract because of 'failing to provide a paid for service'.

I am a BT customer & am not happy with their stance.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

If you are out of contract do it you can always resign. If you are in contract they will penalty charge you possibly up to the end of your contract.

I suspect that if enough people got together and brought a class action they would have a case.

Check the small print or phone Sky so you know the penalty costs then keep an eye on the internet some firm of lawyers may start a no claim action.

Tbh satellite tv isn’t a necessity and football isn’t the only thing on offer. If you have money to spend on tv then imo it isn’t money you struggled to pay, but that isn’t the case as we know. This will shake people up in ways they weren’t expecting and can’t get to grips with.

If I was still under contract I’d expect this from past experience.

I don't expect any more games played in the 2019/20 season.

The Sky model of funding the PL was running out of steam and this crisis will speed up that process.

The PL has basically no growth areas left to exploit .

I don't have Sky or BT so no idea what they will do with customers who stop paying on a fixed term contract

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I managed to pick up one of those lovely streaming boxes on which I can get every football match you could ever want. I pay 30 euro a month and it works worldwide, you just need a decent WiFi connection. Got rid of Sky 3 years ago and was paying them £95 a month for multi room. Best thing I have ever done. I also get Box office for free, movies as soon as they come out at the cinema and just about every box set you can think of.

If Sky had not been so greedy they could have cleaned up but as soon as you get an expensive service you will get someone undercutting the market. Their deals now look terrible value when you consider the additional cost of all the other providers of network sport that you need to subscribe to.

I just added BT Sport to my Sky package but just read about the breach of contract they'll all have should this season etc get delayed or cancelled entirely, they've said as it stands it's only a 2 week break supposedly so they wouldn't be looking to refund anyone but, if this continues I can see them all being forced to refund or credit your account in some way. I only went back to BT Sport for the UFC & now that's gone too.

Disagree with this. How many people who watch EPL worldwide don’t pay anything for it....lots. Opportunity.

How about a model where you can pay per game to stream your club’s games.

Negotiate to allow 3pm kick offs to be streamed/shown.

Premier league 2.

Esports tie ups.

Expand Amazon/Facebook trials

There really is a wealth of opportunity out there.

Yes, it is a tv box. I have PM’d you, but don’t get too excited as it wasn’t bought in this country I’m afraid.
