This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

From what Ive seen very few take any notice of it in Croydon but I suppose central London has more cameras . Should at least make it daytime only ,can you imagine getting a Taxi home from Sringfellows at 3 am doing 20mph all the way back to Purley .

It’s going to be costly putting up these new 20mph speed signs and advertising it. Not sure it will make any difference to road deaths, but if you say this you will be made to look in the wrong :-(

Increasing the speed of motorised vehicles to 20mph in central London is ludicrous. They are much safer when they are stationary bumper to bumper. Mayor Sadiq Khan't will introduce parking charges for traffic jams next.

Tho, does this apply to cyclists/scooters? No, no rules of the road apply to cyclists and scooters. They are a law unto themselves.

You have the right idea about asking a taxi driver to get you home. They have all completed "The Knowledge" and talk to each other. I expect that one of them will happily show you the roads to avoid and the roads that will facilitate doing 40 mph most of the way.

Brilliant post. s*** load of work for useless council workers that vote Red Hardly any for Police that vote blue. Populist blanket ill thought through policies are a sign of a useless politician. Maybe he'll promise to build a wall around london to stop the drugs comming in. A peace wall for all communities..... and who's going to pay for it? No one, because TfL are flat broke! (It will reduce fatalities on the road, help encourage cycling, will improve air quality and allow for future improvements to be carried out to a lower geometric standard that saves money - but a blanket enforcement is still inappropriate) I'd like to see the polices response about enforcement. Let's tie up resources enforcing a 20mph speed limit when kids are getting stabbed.
