It looks like Mike Ashley may be bought out by a Saudi group. [Link] Given their human rights record, how would Palace fans feel about a takeover like this one? On the one hand, "Loadsamoney!", on the other, dodgy owners. Wasn't sure if this should be in the politics tab?

Our major shareholders are American and that country is hardly a paragon of virtue as far as human rights goes - especially if you are black

I would have preferred Gadaffi, Saddam Hussain or perhaps Idi Amin over those evil Saudis. However, none are currently available. Guess I would just have to live with it.

Is Ashley really that bad? His main sin seems to be being from London. He has spent a bit on the team, certainly more than our owners.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Some governments condone bad practices, some pretend they're not happening. But that's whataboutery. Unless you oppose our major shareholders, you would be happy for Saudi money?
