I feel like free transfers are probably the best way to see Palace actually buy anyone this summer. Here are some of the list who are free this summer. Who would you want?
Left Backs: Niko Gießelmann (2 Dusseldorf, Kurzawa (27) (PSG), Nathan Ferguson (19) West Brom (he can play both left and right back) Right backs: Cedric Soares (2 Southampton, Nathaniel Clyne (2 Liverpool , Fosu Mensah (22) UTD, Javi Manquillo (25) Newcastle
Wingers: Ryan Fraser (25) Bournemouth, Jarrod Bowen (23) Hull City, Jordan Ibe (24) Bournemouth, Alvaro Vadillo (25) Granada, Kamel Grosicki (31) Hull City Strikers: Artem Dzyuba (31) Zenit, Aleksandr Kokorin (2 Zenit, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (30) PSG, Sebastien Andersson (25) Union Berling
Andersson would be a must 8 goals in 17 games for Union Berlin would give us more options going forward. So would Bowen.

Kurzawa, Aranguiz, Ryan Fraser, Bowen, I'd even give Kokorin a contract and loaned him out, if he accepted a small salary. Sebastian Andersson is not for me. He is already 28 and, apart from this season, hasn't really been outstanding in the German 2.Bundesliga. Grosicki is old. Bailly and Clyne are rusty, I expect another injury any minute. I don't know about Mendy, he seems too short in height for the PL, noticed that he couldn't keep up the pace when players were running past him with long steps. Not a fan of Cedric Soares or Manquillo. Dzyuba...though a good center forward, I'm hoping that Palace can do something for the future mostly, a younger one. Choupo Moting has hardly played in the last years. Haven't seen Jemerson to say, he's on 55.000 a week, so not very cheap, but not extremely expensive. Who would you kick out though? Cahill and Tomkins are starters. Sakho cost 27 million, is a club's investment. Kelly? Would you replace Kelly with Jemerson ? I'd rather have the youngster Nathan Ferguson in such a case. Giesselman would be ok, German quality, but I think we have better at the club (PVA and Schlupp). I'd rather test my luck with Kurzawa than Giesselman.

Ferguson is probably the pick of that list though players under 24 don't come for free if the current club have offered a contract

Ferguson the Stand out... can play both Full back positions and at Centre back... Sounds like we might be in for him anyway....

despite my love for big mamadou if we could sell him & use his wages for a 25 y/o bailly that would be sound buisness.

I'd like to see us go for Angel Gomes who's contract is up in the summer. He's the kind of risk that could be Zaha's replacement for what would basically be a tribunal fee. Lots of interest in him, especially from Italy, but an offer of first team football in the Premier League might be tempting for him. He'd probably want big wages for an unproven player, but we've seen with players like Sancho that sometimes it's worth the risk.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Free agents' by bexleydave From the list of free players, I'd look at Edwin Cardona (Colombian international, decent age, I don't know HOW he ended up on the free players list) and Vladimir Weiss (Slovak international, 30 yo), not very young but would make a decent sub as left winger. Cardona has been a starter for Colombia in 2018 and played very well in the Mexican league last season (2018-19 season), having the biggest number of assists there (10) and 6 goals in the Apertura in 17 matches. He was their star player. His contract was running out so they played him less this season because he didn't want to extend with them. They came to an agreement to terminate it 6 months earlier as he wasn't thinking about the team anymore and so that he could sign for someone else. There was big talk about Boca Juniors, but it seems he will stay with another Mexican team. Their league is pretty solid, think Portuguese league football. Has not played more than 50% matches for Colombia in 2019 and this could make a transfer to the Premier League difficult, but I'm baffled he couldn't find a team in Ligue 1 or Italy. He's a Colombian attacking player of left wing with 37 matches, 5 goals and 5 assists for the Colombian national team. All other Colombians play in Europe. Vladimir Weiss has been playing in Qatar in the last years, but has European experience in the Serie A and Spain and even at Manchester City and Rangers. Son of former Slovakia national team coach, he had to overcome popular belief that he played because of his father. 7 goals and 16 assists in 4600 minutes at international level for Slovakia.
