Pardew's first game in charge is home to bottom club Waalwijk so there is a decent chance he could get off to a winning start.

I note that in his squad is midfielder Lex Immers whom I recall playing for Cardiff on loan from Feyenoord when Russell Slade was the manager.He scored a few goals and was liked by their supporters.
