Ok, what's everyones thoughts on tomorrows fight?

AJ has just come in at 16st 13lbs 10lb lighter and Ruiz over 20st 15lbs heavier than when they last met.

I'm please that AJ seems to have learned from his defeat and that he' accepted he needs to be more lithe and to rely more on his boxing skills if he wants to step up in class.

I see Ruiz soaking up a fair amount of pressure and AJ being more circumspect and respectful based on the last fight...though I have AJ winning late on (9th round).

having said all that it could quite easily go to points!

I think Joshua will demolish him in the first half of the fight he didn't take the first fight seriously hopefully this time he has. If AJ loses then it's pretty much over for him if he carries on he will be one of the pretenders.

Joshua was put down 4 times in their fight, Ruiz has quick hands, so this will have a psychological affect on AJ.
Ruiz has come in heavy and will want to get the fight won early on.He knows he can hurt Joshua and put him down.
Huge pressure on Joshua.

I think Ruiz knocked out a already concussed AJ last time.

I just don't see Ruiz winning....but then again, I didn't last time.

I can see sense in AJ being lighter, but must admit to being surprised that Ruiz has gained 15lbs!

With that weight difference I can't help thinking this was all a set up to flush out Wilder, to come in over a stone heavier than the flabby 1st fight is madness & lacks professionalism, who's advising him, Domino's Pizza ?

People have been saying Ruiz was enjoying the life since he became heavyweight champ... he's been buying cars, eating loads and maybe thats why he's put on weight since the last fight.
He might, though have intended to put extra weight on as part of his tactics. Guess we'll only know after the fight is over. That's what Chisora said... Wait till round 8 then we'll know whose training worked better.

He's been using that lightening fast hand speed to shovel donuts into his gob

It was a one-punch win, despite dragging on. That can always happen. He needs to fight his fight and stay disciplined. If he does, he'll win.

Yep, as ginger pubes said. The bbc programme with Mike Tyson’s insight was a good watch. Full description of what happened to Joshua after taking a hard hook on the side of the head from up close.

The clips of Joshua in between rounds asking what happened, what kind of punch it was and what should he do and what punches should he use and look out for was eye opening to how he was done after that one punch. Really was fairytale or fictional stuff, if Joshua was a longer term champ, but a stand in winning the title will do.

Don’t get too close and use his boxing skills and Joshua will win, even if it takes a while. Another punch or more like that and he’s going to be done.
