I am thinking of getting my son an Oculus Quest setup for Christmas but I don't know anything about VR.

The adverts all talk about the hardware and software but don't mention anything about how to play and for a gaming ignoramus like myself that's quite important.

My son currently plays Xbox and Switch sitting (or lying) on his bed but I assume that's not how you play VR games.

Do you actually walk about during game play and if so how do you stop from bumping into things or falling down the stairs?

Your nephew is you???

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Had a chat with the boy ME.
Seems sitting down/laying down are the preferred methods of playing. Both nephews and my son ( all in their 20s) said
"Why move around when the game does it for you"
Lazy little feckers.
Hope thats some help.

I have been told, cough cough ahem, that you can now watch a bit of the old 'Frankie Vaughan' on VR. (Rhyming slang obvs)
Pretty sure you wouldn't want to be walking around watching that. Whole world of hurt.
