Errrr....I don't 'celebrate diversity'. I'm sick and tired of people who 'celebrate diversity' and propagandise it. Can they not celebrate it by themselves? Back in the day if something wasn't mainstream and there wasn't a big deal made I was fine with it on a 'live and let live' bases.....Now I see that ruse was just a way in. Now they want to 'shove it in your face'....Well, can't they keep the 'shoving into faces' between themselves? Now if you're not celebrating 'trans kids' or teenagers or the next wave of minority characteristics you're apparently terrible. Thanks but if I'm 'celebrating' anything it's what I like. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Nov 2019 4.20am) It’s curious that there’s such an orthodoxy as to which diversity should be celebrated. As someone said anyone who thinks he’s Napoleon Bonaparte is called mad but if he thinks he’s Natalie Bonaparte he’s applauded.

Currently in Ireland there is an outcry from the LGBTetc community and the usual suspects, that they want hate crime legislation introduced. There is probably a similar movement in the UK. I just fail to see why they need a special protection in law, over and above everyone else, whilst at the same time wanting to be treated equally.

If someone has their nose broken in an unprovoked assault does it hurt more if that person is LGBTetc? I thought the law was about equality but apparently if you are guilty of a crime with a hate element you are treated harsher. And of course the biggest issue I have with hate crime is that the alleged "victim" is allowed to self declare and that is treated as an official statistic. But when the BBC et al trumpet that the police hate crime numbers have risen they don't mention that most of those crimes are one person's opinion and in many cases the police decide there is no case to answer. But if you are part of that "diverse" community it's actually in your interests to report a simple drunken scuffle in a pub as a full blown hate crime. I see today a black graduate has complained that a porter at his old Alma Mater asked him if he cleaned the windows there or robbed the place. Plenty of news coverage yet no one thought to ask did this even happen? So far we only have this guy's word for it so it's an unsubstantiated allegation which if true is horrible and that person should be sacked. But the media have already decided that it's true and that the college has a major problem. It would have been better if the media had obtained corroborating evidence before doing a hatchet job.

It's the latest thing in equality and diversity - trial by media: everyone gets found guilty and then they argue about their potential for innocence.

Diversity is about taking account of the differences between people and groups of people, and placing a positive value on those differences, should be second nature. For elderly people in particular, they may have found their way barred by failing the 11+ and class war and snobbery, what school you went to etc. Obviously you are unique and if you realise it then that is a good thing. We are not 'going over the top' while stirlingsays watches from the rear 20 miles away, anymore. Celoebrate your diversity, tell him and his band of controlling geriatrics to place themselves.
