Oldest Living Former Palace Player

This came up in conversation at the weekend with a friend who is the son-in-law of a former player. This gentleman will be 89 in Feb. next year and I wondered if he might be the oldest living player I am sure the stats guys on here will be able to enlighten me Many thanks

Thank you for your advice. However without asking the gentleman`s permission I feel it would be inappropriate to name him. My question should perhaps have been a simple"who is the oldest living player". best regards

Thank you all again. This was not intended as "guess the player" thread but a search for a fact. Mel Blyth is a spritly 75 so is probably not in the oldest 50 or so players but many thanks Willo for your contribution. I will make a call tonight and ask the family if they would object to me naming him. Many thanks again but is Mr. Marsden the oldest?
