He's been touted for the last two summers with no direct quotes. Would seem a very odd signing without at least two outgoings from central midfield. I think mattteo said he was fat, too.

I disagree slightly that we don't need another CDM, yes we have loads but they're not the best. McCarthy will leave soon, McArthur is ageing fast and Luka is dog poop. Riedewald is the only CDM we have that I rate, Kouyate is a decent player when he's played there. Basically it wouldn't be a bad thing to bring in a 25 year old if he's better than what we have...

Agreed. I would like for us to bid on Gallagher (currently on loan at West Brom), as he is a quintessential box to box midfielder.

I agree with you though that I think we do need a bob-to-box midfielder. The fact the player recently stated that we were going to sign him until an injury to Sako adds weight to this rumour and we do like to stalk players to an almost predatory level before signing them. I can't help but think that McCarthy or Meyer would probably have to leave for this to happen though.

We now have Eze, as an attacking midfielder, who has made a greater impact than Mayer ever has. I hope that McCarthy does stay. He's a very good DM, but prone to a lot of injury. The wonderful McArthur can't go on for ever. So we do need midfield replacements
