Supposedly contacted by PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands but they can't even offer him that much. An Arab club offered him 5 million euros yearly salary, but unguaranteed. He wouldnhave went if it was guaranteed. That's about 90.000 euros or 85.000 pounds per week, not that much considering it's freaking RIBERY!

He is not old for the PL at all. Watched him last season, he's a powerhouse. Runs, fights, would be a terrific influence in the locker room.

No good striker this transfer window? Still left with Tekkers, Ayew and Wickham?

Well, move Zaha to center forward position and you got a great striker and get Ribery to play left winger! Problem solved.

Yeah, Ribery offers no re-sale value, but moving Zaha to central position means even more goals from him as a striker and an even bigger price for him in the next transfer windows, as he's now in the spotlight after the 70 million bid. Keeping him as winger might mean he scores little or not at all (though hard to believe), which could provide his doubters with reasons to ask for a lower price

Really?

Sorry matt, teo you really need to get out more.

Why in gods good earth are you even suggesting this? This ranks with Baliotelli etc etc. Perhaps you even think Danny Simpson should be our new RB.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I disagree - I find Mattteo's insights most interesting.

Suggesting we should be the club to rehabilitate paedo Johnson was less outrageous.

Not a paedophile.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Why would you even reposte that as an answer?

I'm suggesting this because there arenonly free agents left to sign and I recently came upon this information about Franck Ribery, a very rated player who I had believed was asking for a much bigger salary.

I really don't understand your replies. Ribery is not someone to be considered?

OP isn't half as mad as you.

I understood that Adam Johnson is not welcomed anyway so the discussion is moot.

I was asking if Johnson can help Palace as an offensive midfielder who creates opportunities for strikers to score goals, not for Palace to rehabilitate a paedophile.

But it's irrelevant to talk about this given that felow posters have made it clear that they wouldn't welcome him.

Positive influence on the dressing room?

The same Ribery that was found to be paying an underage prostitute for sex?

Roy mentioned something in his press conference on Friday that any player signing on a free would have to have been by 2pm on Friday. I'm not sure whether that was to be eligible for the Everton match or whether that's it until January.

Either way, I can't see Ribery joining.
