I am not a bot. No, seriously, I'm not. |

No for me. Hardly pulling up trees in the french league. €30 sounds like agent talk.

Now this is more like it!!! Best attacking player we've been linked with recently. Young with bags of potential, can play on either wing and not afraid to shoot. Pace for days, would suit our counter attacking style. Sign him up!

I thought Watford were favorites to sign him. But then again there's been so many rumours flying around regarding Sarr and Saint-Maximin. At one point they've all been close to signing for either Watford, Newcastle and Palace. For what it's worth I'd rather take ASM seems a bit more developed in terms of technique and if you believe the papers is available for slightly less.

He is faster, works harder, scores more goals. He can play at ease on both sides of the pitch and score from both left wing and right wing, while ASM struggles as left wing. Sarr can also be cover for center forward as he tall and agile, while shorter ASM can't. He's 1 year younger than ASM too. Ismaila Sarr can be looked at as possible Zaha replacement, ASM cannot. He's just a young player who can evolve. Would be very expensive, but around the same price as ASM.

ASM has stated however that his most preferred position is centrally behind the striker which would suit us. Whether either comes to palace or not I think it's likely we'll see both in the prem so we'll probably still get a chance to assess their effectiveness in the league.

looks like EXACTLY what we need if Wilf goes, plus various others, I'm sure he'll end up at Watford

I've looked up somw stats for ASM playing centrally, behind the main striker: He really doesn't have much continuity there to justify a fee of over 10 million.

I'm not sure if I'm reading it right but in the first link you posted for stats'playing as second striker' doesn't it show that in 8 games played in that position he had 3 goals and 2 assists? That seems like a pretty decent return to me. The second link shows no stats from the last 2 seasons however. Edited by samprior (29 Jul 2019 2.37pm)

Edited by samprior (29 Jul 2019 2.37pm) Yes, it does, but the second link is pretty much the same position, just named "attacking midfielder" on the site, even though there was still just 1 more player more advanced than him. Combined, the 2 give a decent return of the player in that position, but too few matches to say for sure that he can keep up or improve. He just played like 9 matches there in the last year. In conclusion, I think that ASM can play well as right wing (though he's right footed and would not cut inside to let the right back advance and cross) and can also cover as second striker and left wing. But Ismaila Sarr can play equally well on both sides of the pitch and cover with great results as center forward and second striker, so that's 4 positions he knows very well. Plus that I've seen him in the Europe League matches and he looks very fit and tall and slim and ready to run back and help, while ASM looks a bit too bulk, kind of like Adama Traore, with good sprints for short distances, but lack of coming back in defence, more like a skilled player than a useful one. Sarr also has the numbers on his side. At a similar price, the better choice would be Ismaila Sarr. Though I think there are similar players at a better price than even Sarr.
