Don't mean to sound so negative, however as a long time season ticket holder, I don't think I can ever remember a time when I have felt such little excitement or interest in a coming season.

The sale or AWB, the lack of any new signings, not having a striker capable of scoring more than a handful of goals plus six years of relegation battles and dog sh@t poor home form have all combined to mean zero interest from me. Call me a plastic if you like - just saying how I feel.

You must of really enjoyed the start of each season Francis and Taylor were managers.
Being continually fighting relegation is a not really the truth. We have ended comfortably mid table each year, last year our lowest position was 16th.

I haven't been passionate about football for years now. Up to my late twenties I had the bug but now days I rarely watch any football that doesn't include Palace.

As long as we still have Zaha, I can’t help but be excited for the new season.

Me too - I'm expecting that Roy will have to make do with some s***ty bargain bucket buys and free transfers, meaning we'll have to play rigid, functional football to squeeze out points, only getting worse when the injuries devastate our paper-thin squad.

A team with Wilf, Townsend and Meyer in could potentially be very exciting, but with our strike force of complete wasters it's like watching a synchronised swimming team with a mix of professionals and lobotomised hippos.

Tom this is exactly how I feel as well normally I am buzzing for the new season to start but I am actually dreading it right now. The only thing that might make it feel better is if we get some new players in over the next 3 weeks who improve the squad. If we don't then I think we will be down especially if Zaha leaves

Don't feel enthused at all about the season. People talk about how lucky we should feel being in the prem still etc and we don't know how good we've got it but as a season ticket holder, it's so boring. Our place in the home form table since promotion says it all- our best year was the first we were up. No progress has been made- i'd actually say our squad now is worse than it was 2 years ago. Here's the home form:

13/14- 11th- 8 wins, 18 goals
14/15- 16th- 6 wins, 21 goals
15/16- 18th- 6 wins, 19 goals
16/17- 18th- 6 wins, 24 goals
17/18- 13th, 7 wins, 29 goals
18/19- 18th, 5 wins, 19 goals

So really, we'll probably score 19-22 goals this season at home and win 5/6 games. Can't wait

Have to admit I am feeling much the same - I don’t think we’ll go down but not expecting any more than that.

Do we ever just start a window with a target identified and budget allocated for the deal? Every other club seems to manage it.

Quite shocking reading when you consider what we charge for tickets these days - the last 6 years combined you’ve seen 38 wins in 114 league games at Selhurst and will be grands out of pocket for the privilege.

Yep and even though I live in Kent now, my drive there and back is 90 mins each way. Can be quite a depressing drive back haha!

Matey peeps, I’m bored stiff with Roy’s football but keep it in mind that he’s here to keep us up with minimal cost because atm we have very little choice. Relegation could be a lot worse and keep us down for a very long time, and lower than we’ve experienced before many decades ago. We just have to put up with it for a while longer until the team is evolved, most likely with Zaha sale funds, possibly with a new manager and fun’s to do it after we’ve addressed finances a bit more, and/or we’ve sold the club to someone willing to spend and solved our problems in an instant.

I can see myself not using my ST and sitting out a few home games and watching in my armchair, which I wish I have at Selhurst these days.

In reality, don’t think we’ve got anything to complain about at all and yet I do feel the same.

For me it’s doom and gloom fatigue. Even it turns out alright in the end, you can expect months of Palace taking the shine off your weekend. Avoiding social media and HOL because it’s too depressing. I keep hoping for a crisis-free season but it never happens.

Eurgh. I’m enjoying the summer thanks.
