How’s everyone finding it at the moment?

Reason I ask is many of my mates either work for themselves or run businesses and many have told me recently how tough thing have got, mainly since Brexit.

I too have found things tougher so just wondered how everyone else was finding it? Doesn’t seem to be much confidence out there.

Being taxed to the hilt and with rising prices, whilst the government pretend there is no problem, means that even though I earn a good wage (way, way over the average), I can't afford much.
I also heard sales from some pretty big businesses are way down quite suddenly.
One might suggest a slump in consumer spending. Not good news as most Western countries have relied on consumer spending in the absence of any heavy industry and a lack of a manufacturing base.
Give it a year or even less and expect another global meltdown. I wouldn't fully think it's Brexit but the uncertainty of Brexit does not help - and I don't disagree with the idea of Brexit just to clarify.
My feeling is that the recession was only falsely averted by printing money (bailouts and quantitative easing). Eventually someone was going to have to pay the Piper. The problem is that we are all pipers and none of us saw anything get any better. Only the usual suspects benefitted.

''The Economy''............

Died in 2008/09 and has been on life-support ever since, but only (shock horror?) for the benefit of those who dine at the top-table hence the increasing wealth-gap etc etc.
People are skint. I'll rephrase that........the people who drive economies are skint due to those who dine.......blah blah blah.
Yes, i bang-on about the economy all the time and people continually nail me for 'It hasn't crashed yet lol' etc (water off a TUX back) but these things take time to build, ie things don't happen overnight.
I merely try to remind people that crashes happen and maybe they should remember this easily forgotten fact, the ever-increasing reliance on credit (borrowing from your future to pay for today) being a clear sign.

Economic s*** never escapes the fan.

Borrowing has happened since money was invented.
It is the way it is, as not many people can pay outright for much more than their shopping.
That's not down to the wealth gap it's down to the cost of things being what they are and wages reflecting what you bring to the table for your client or employer.

No, we mass produce care packs that contain piles cream, an EU flag, an audiobook of Baldrick debating who's got the biggest mansion with billy bragg, a bumper sticker saying bollox to brexit and due to popular demand a double ended rubber, "supersized" phallus with suction cup base.

We call it the remainer survival kit and it's sold like hotcakes. Make a killing just on the shipping to holiday homes in the south of France for some reason but there you go.

Good memory: we do the occasional monitoring of dust produced by demolition to ensure regulatory compliance as part of a wider environmental monitoring solution.

The remainer survival kit is just a temporary sideline.

Some of the technology isn't even that good to be fair, we call them random number generators. The stuff we've got is decent though, tip top.
