I'm pro-Parrish, but I can see the merit in the critics on here who point to a certain short-termism, though I reject any idea that he's milking the club in some way as some posters suggest. But here's a link from a superb article from Planet Football - it sets out the club's mistakes with its recent decision making and our strategy for the future with great balance and insight, and it would be interesting to see how much common ground there is between Parrish's supporters and his critics once they've checked this out.

Parish is as Parish does.

After all these years you know what you are getting with Steve, let’s put it that way. He makes far more awful decisions than good ones, and throws in the occasional Gerald Ratner style howler.

Could we have a chairman who is far, far worse? You bet we could.

Could we have a chairman who is far, far better? Yep.

But we gots Stevie, baby, for the time being.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I wouldn't say harsh - more pathetic

It's not a question of being pro or anti.

With a lot of luck and favourable circumstances, he has delivered us from administration to PL status. However, the best thing he and the board can do now is finally getting the real ground development started and sell the club to wealthier owners.

The sale of AWB underlines that the club has no further to climb and the real potential to fall under its current financial limitations.

He also forgives a good trespass.

Never thought of Steve in the biblical sense but could he be the next King Herod searching for another AWB?

His biggest mistake is bringing the Americans on board he even let that slip he was desperate the club was in trouble something lots of people forget when going on about him.

yes that is right the club was leaking lots of money had we not been promoted back into administration.

i am not making this up he even stated this which is one thing he has learnt is to be lot more careful with his words he let slip too much at times now he pauses every time before speaking.

My biggest bugbear with Parish is that the second something goes well he's everywhere, twitter, radio, sky, Susanna Reid.

The second something isn't looking so rosy, he's nowhere to be seen, no comment, nothing.

I'd have much more respect for him if he just came out and was honest in either set of circumstances, enjoy the good moments and face the bad moments head on like a man.

Had after the whole AWB transfer, he'd come out and said look we've sold him because of this, this and this reason, you'd understand and respect it.

If we now sign someone or he paints a pillar in the Arthur, he'll be everywhere telling you how amazing it is. You can't have it both ways.

I don't expect him to come out and tell us every little bit of info and potentially harm our ability to negotiate by saying we're reinvesting the whole AWB money, but at least be balanced in your approach to negative and positive news.

In hindsight, you are right about American owners, they are more interested in taking money out, than investing in growth. Other clubs have similar experience Man Utd, the Glaziers are rumoured to have milked a billion out over the years, Arsenal biggest match day receipts, but no money, A Villa under Randy Learner went down, he lost interest.
