Sopranos (the guvnor)
Boardwalk empire (brilliant, set in a great time period, with the music , until the last series, which was all flash backs , pony end)
Game of thrones (loved it, which is weird as if someone described it to me with the dragons and weird sh*t, I wouldn’t have watched it)
Walking dead (very good, goes in a bit of a cycle with them all being happy, then stumbling across a load of nutters, then being happy and repeat. Again , zombies not my thing, but after a few series they were a small part of it)
Breaking bad (was watching at least 3/4 a night, quality apart from the one with the fly wtf?)
Peaky blinders (quality , apart from the series in the big house with all the Russians)
Sons of anarchy (funny for a bit but tailed off, when they went over to Ireland, what the f*ck was that about)
Kingdom (watchable, a family of double hard MMA fighters that love getting pissed and doing gear)
Ray Donovan (for a couple of series, then lost interest)

Ozark (watchable, would watch the next series, but wouldn’t be that bothered)
Luther (very good, great characters, although a bit disturbing, not really into weird psycho killer stuff)

I tried the one that’s on now ‘the virtue’, but wanted to top my self at the start of the 2nd episode.
Anything else like the above that people would recommend.
Tried the wire, but stopped, it looked so dated, so something current.

Some proper telly there Casual. Breaking Bad has to be top of my list.

The Wire is well worth checking out too.

And Oz which was beyond bonkers by the end but entertaining in its own warped way.

A largely awesome selection of entertainment. The only ones I haven't seen are Kingdom and Sons Of Anarchy.

Ozark is actually good. Hated 'The Wire'.

I'd recommend 'Vikings'.

And back in time a bit,'Waking The Dead'.

'The Handmaid's Tale' is worth a go.

One can't forget 'Line of Duty' of course.

I must add 'Lost'. Brilliant escapism.

For anyone old enough to remember the old 'Lost in Space', The new version is worth a mention. Only one series so far with another coming. It is lightweight but oddly enjoyable. Don't bother if you just like hardcore sex and violence. This is family entertainment.

Lost I liked until the polar bear turned up, that lost it for me.

Line of duty must be decent, heard it is good from loads of people, feel like I’ve missed the boat with it though. Might give it 6 months, once the hype has died down.

I didn't bother watching the first three series but got caught up in all the hype so bought the DVDs of the first three to watch.

I have an expensive sound system and the difference between the sound on the DVD and the highly compressed sound from Sky is phenomenal as it really does bring Westeros to life.

PS I built my AV system up several years ago when I was an avid film watcher whereas nowadays I tend to just fall asleep in front of the screen

I watched the first dozen or so episodes until it became obvious that they were just spinning it out as long as possible by never asking the right questions of the right people at the right time so I gave up

I guessed that after the pilot episode and have never seen it since. I would not have been happy to sit through 7 seasons for that conclusion. I've been caught out like this before e.g. The Prisoner wasn't going to waste my time again.

The good thing with TV today is if I had been wrong and it had a proper ending I could always catch up later.
