What do you think would happen with us if Allardyce didn't snake out on us?

We would still be playing with a 10 man defence and boring the pants off our fans.

I thought we played some of our best football under Allardyce. We played Arsenal off the park in a 3-0 win, beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, beat Chelsea 2-1.

He spent a fair bit of money but I think the majority of his signings have been a success and still doing it for us today.

He was the best manager for getting the best out of Benteke. I'd have him back in a heartbeat if he was committed to staying at the club for a more longterm project.

I also think his repuatation of defensive hoofball is unfair when you think back to teams like his Bolton team of JayJay, Campo, Djorkaeff etc. where they played some great football at times.

For me SA was a good acquisition at the time, he kept us up and bought some very decent players. I am an RH fan and like the way we play now, feel confident with him in charge but Sam I would have back if he would commit.

For whatever reason he didn't want to stay with us. Like Pulis, Pardew and Hodgson he got us out of a hole. Aside from Bolton every club he's managed the fans seem to get fed up with him sooner or later. I think that speaks volumes. He's gone and personally I'm not bothered.

Not sure about the most comfortable bit, but ok. You keep deluding yourself.

Good post, agree 100%. He has been getting grief for comments made on Talksport about England, when he said you shouldn't play out from the back all the time. Totally agree with him doesn't make him a dinosaur. Would have a committed SA back (I am not having a go at Roy here)

I would like him and his scouting team to become part of our scouting network as he certainly bought in some good players. I didn't think the football was anywhere near as bad as under Pulis and tactically he is very astute. However, I am happy with how we play now compared to these two.

Tbf to pulis, he inherited a terrible squad and was pretty much a miracle keeping us up our first season in the prem.
