Combative central midfielder who chips in with goals and has just been released by Swansea. Depending on wage demands, would definitely make our squad look stronger and still only 29 years old.

has resisted writing a single post on the Ross McCormack thread !!!

Don't want to pronounce myself. Seems injury prone and has lost much of that speed you qere talking about. Just 1500 minutes this year in the Championship.

And yet.....being a free player sounds very tempting. Still managed to provide 7 assists from central midfield position in those few minutes. Was one of the goalscoring midfielders in the PL when Swansea was here.

But I think the best thing for he future of the club is not to get an injury prone player who doesn't have many good years left in him and instead go for a younger player, more reliable.

I know Lewis Wing from Boro is just 23 and out of contract in the summer. Dan Crowley has been doing amazingly in the Netherlands and for me he's almost at Mason Mount's level, but would cost only about 3 million. Aribo is a young central midfielder from League One who is out of contract and could be taken but loaned out to get some more experience. David Turnbull from the Scottish Premiership is probably one of the best talent in the world at his age and he shouldn't cost more than 1-2 million, would make a terrific investment

And if you really want a brain who can replace Cabaye for good, go for Lewis Holtby from Hamburg. Knows the league, played for Tottenham too. Just 28 still. Hamburg has failed in their promotion bud, even though Holtby gas put up a great season, as always. Has become increasingly able to play as central midfielder. Has the speed, strength, clarity in assists, ball control, everything. A bid of around 3 million should do it.

Leroy Fer...used to be good, but had bad luck with the injuries.
