I keep seeing the trailer of it, so might check it out. It does look endlessly bleak though and of course the actual incident and aftermath was, so I'm not quite sure what I'd be letting myself in for.

Not much comedy value in it. Although the portrayal of Russian officials is pretty funny. Perhaps more humourous than 'Threads' (nuclear disaster series) and certainly funnier than anything James Corden has done.

I am currently watching episode one and it is very dull so far.
When you know what is going to happen, it is all rather predictable.

Feel like I’m exposed to radiation just by watching the programme.

the acting is good, the scene seems very authentic, and the story is heating up.

maybe it was chernobyl that finally finished off the rotten political regime of the Soviets. Socialism sucks.

At the time of the accident, the USA and USSR had a Treaty about no nuclear bomb testing.
I saw a weather forecast the evening before Russia admitted what had happened.
I think it was Michael Fish who stated there was a radioactive cloud heading towards the UK, and that it seemed the Russians had broken the Treaty.

Hours later, Russia broke its silence.
Those poor Russian firemen.

And Welsh sheep farming was crippled (or as the Welsh would say, "proper fooked" )

It got better in episode 2.
I wonder how many people in Europe really got and will get cancer as a direct result.

We will never know.

The children of Chernobyl and their children are still suffering, with the effect of the radiation being passed on. One charity is still out there helping - it's amazing what 4 weeks of care can do. Apparently quite a few come to the West country every year.

Russia has always been too close to a dictatorship to label it accurately as anything. A socialist dictatorship is just a dictatorship, the socialist part is meaningless.

Anyway I digress, I really want to watch this so I might give it a go...surely its a plot you can only make one series out of isnt it?
