Without a doubt I would imagine that there will be no further contract extension for Jules after this season. With our safety now assured and our last game of the season being against Bournemouth at Selhurst do you think it would be an idea to play Jules? Not for the entire game though, possibly to start with him and bring him off around the hour mark. That way everyone would be in the ground (nobody having sneaked off for a beer or yet to return from having one and nobody leaving early). That way he gets his own moment of appreciation from our fans with the entire focus on him rather than say playing the whole game and it being watered down by appreciation being shown to the whole team. Just an idea, I think that it would be sad for him to simply disappear off the radar at the end of the season. Thoughts?
"It's ok postman , he'll lick you to death" "That isn't really that comforting , I still end up dead !!" |

I'd like that. Although it would need to be confirmed before the game that it was final one. Personally, I think he's fine as a third choice keeper for next season. He would be unlikely to play anyway and he showed he can step in for the emergency situation like we had against Spurs (I've deliberately blocked out the Liverpool clanger!)

I’d keep him as 3rd choice, with Lucas Peri as 2 and offload WH.

He's already had a testimonial and at least two contract extensions too many. Showed at Anfield that he's not up to it any more. More to the point if Hodgson gave a few youngsters some game time - e.g. Flanagan, Daly, Dreher.

I want to watch a competitive game against Bournemouth. It’s not a testimonial, it’s an actual premiership fixture with something to play for. And in the event Jules did start based on soppy sentiment … and he fluffs his lines again, he’d look a right c*nt! Get over the Jules thing! Everything comes to an end.

I agree with the general thrust of these comments, adding that the higher one finishes in the PL the more money for the club.

If he doesn’t retire he is an excellent third choice keeper and a good personality to have about the place. Doesn’t rock the boat and helps the other players. Also against Spurs the following week he was excellent -

He's spot on, time to wrap it up, long overdue. Great service to the club and deservedly a fans' favourite.
