So lots of people would like Roy to go but not many have a realistic replacement in mind. Here’s mine.

1. Chris Wilder (Sheffield United) best manager in the Championship by far.

2. Christian Streich (SC Freiburg) - almost a younger version of Roy doing wonders with a small club in the Bundesliga and has a good record of bringing through young talent.

3. Steven Gerard (Rangers) bit of a punt being so inexperienced but his playing career should command a great deal of respect. As our feeder club (Chelsea) May have to hold onto their players, Liverpool could be our go to club to pick up young talent and his connections may help us. Question is, is premier league with us more appealing than Europe with Rangers.

has resisted writing a single post on the Ross McCormack thread !!!

Would like to add graham potter to the list, got Swansea playing and went toe to toe with city in the cup.

Steve Clarke was one I was interested in but I think he likes a drink a wee too much.

I hope RH will stay as IMO he is so good for a club of our size. But if he did go Stevie G looks to be doing a good job at Rangers, would he be able to step up is the question?

We need a top coach who can improve players, the added value can be immense. Rafa Benitez would be perfect in my view - caveated with the wish that Roy goes when he is ready.

How do you bring a new manager in with one already here who goes when he is ready?
