We have just five goals from Open Play in the League at home this year, worst in the Division

In contrast, 17 away from home - better than Liverpool or Chelsea

---

Meyer has played 1101 League minutes scored once and contributed to 3 other goals
Barry Bannan played 1139 mins, scored once and contributed to 3 other goals. (Plus he didn't give the ball away as much in his own half)

---

The team have scored in 10 consecutive PL games for the first time

Looking at the teams around us we are 6-8 goals down at home where we should be.

Brighton taken 6 points off us this season.

Enough for them to avoid probable relegation - and to ensure we don’t finishing top 10.

Which is criminal given the strength of our squad. Should have kicked on from last season and targeted 10th at least. Amazes me how we are always looking down .

Stats: Meyer has STARTED 11 league games this season and we have accrued 17 points in those games (including both Manchester clubs away), he has also started all 3 FA Cup games.
Why he is not starting more home games beggars belief IMO. Our midfield should be Luka as defensive midfielder: Kouyate as the "go-between" he can win the ball, defend and break out into attack: Meyer to fill the gap just behind Zaha, he can pick out that decisive pass that has been missing in a lot of games

Raised this on the Roy Hodgson thread.

We have also obtained 2 points when conceeding at home this season.

If you score at Selhurst you are likely to win.

No heavy defeats because we don't chase games.

At this stage last season,30 games, we were in the relegation zone in 18th having attained 27 pts.At present of course we are 14th on 33 pts so an improvement thus far.

Last season we did win 5 of our last 8 games to finish 11th, including a 3-2 win against Brighton, but 2 of those games were against Stoke and WBA who were relegated.

And 2 of our last 8 this year are against Huddersfield and Cardiff who will likely be relegated. But I'll be pleasantly suprised if we finished 11th this season. .
