As my daughter likes ‘the other game’ and plays a bit, giving her a treat on Saturday. Bad day to miss the mighty eagles but hey ho, I’ll send my nephews.

Can someone please tell me the best pub option before the match, coming from Croydon.

The Webb Ellis. Its on the main drag bout a 10min walk to twikkers. Weatherspoons & very large inside get there early tho if you want a table it gets vvv busy. Enjoy the egg chasing.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Many thanks eagleman

Can’t stand Tim Martin and the way he treats staff so avoid Wetherspoon pubs

Other suggestions very welcome

The Cabbage Patch (5 mins from the station) is very popular and has a garden but gets crowded very quickly. There's a pub around the corner from that called the Albany where people tend to drink in the car park in front of that if you are looking for more space. I usually go there if the cabbage patch is too full.
The Barmy Arms on the river is good and gets lively post match.
Last time I went in November the West car park within the grounds of the stadium had a lot of food and beer stalls. This is usually popular because its right next to the stadium and you are free to walk around. All of these though the beer doesn't come cheap.

If you want to see the game, somewhere outside of Twickenham is probably a good idea.

If you don't, The Cabbage Patch or Barmy Arms as already suggested.

Optimistic as ever

Many thanks cjh (and Stu). The Cabbage Patch is Fullers which appeals. May consider Clapham beforehand. Get some Young’s

Having been to Twickers many times I suggest the Albany as it is not quite so mobbed, and is easy to meet people there.

Attached is a map for your convenience, enjoy!

I'd recommend The Eel Pie or the Barmy Arms (on the river). Or The Cricketers in Richmond. Most pubs in Richmond are pretty decent though. Never been to the egg chasing so no idea what they are like on match days but all decent on none match days.

Or The Falcon at Clapham Junction, which should show the Palace match (not sure if any of the others will). It's an OK pub with a good selection of beers.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I usually go to the Eal Pie before & the Barmy arms after, not usually as good when it is a late kick off.

Last time I went I went in the o2 Blue Room in the car park which was pretty good they had Billy in pulling pints beforehand & 3 of the players in after giving a talk.

LOL There's a good pub up near Strawberry Hill which sells free trade beer & has a good range of quinoa based dishes & also a vegan buffet, Enjoy.
