Good manager - and not much money in Scotland these days.

I am a tad surprised at this development. I accept the Scottish League is not the PL but Celtic are a huge club that play in the Champions League.Leicester are a mid-table side and of course Rodgers was once manager of a much larger club in Liverpool.I can understand Rodgers wanting to return to the PL and there were tensions at Celtic but surprised he has considered Leicester. Not surprised he is leaving just his destination. Edited by Willo (26 Feb 2019 3.22pm) I'm not overly surprised as on paper you are right but they will rarely make it to the group stages of Europe, let alone anything meaningful. Then of course there's the big one - salary. You just know Rodgers will get more at Leicester and sometimes that's all it takes depending on what your ambitions for a job are. Do you have any info on the tensions you mentioned at Celtic? Hasn't Rodgers won literally every trophy possible twice (domestic trebles back to back?). What on Earth are the tensions with fans? I know they can be a little greedy but I can't see what they possibly have to moan about.

My understanding is that Rodgers' ambition was at odds with Celtic's practicality in terms of financial support.

They occasionally get into it but I'm not really sure you could call 2 wins in 6 or 7 years playing in it.

Good appointment by Leicester if it happens. Showed that he is a good manager at Swansea and Liverpool and Leicester have some decent players already there so think he will cement them in the top half and in time look to get them into the top 6

A success story in Leicester (game quality & top 7 etc) can push him to a better role. Only a success in CL would be a signature for him at Celtics but he was far away from achieving this.
