In those 10 games (technically 9.5 as he went off at half-time v Watford) and without having to play spectacularly he has racked up one of the best starts to a PL career, conceding only six goals, placing him =7th on the fewest allowed of those 200 at the start of a career The fewest is amazingly just 2 and the most 30. Kudos if you can guess both, particularly the latter

Kudos if you can guess both, particularly the latter I'm guessing Petr Cech is top of the list, conceding 2 in his first 10. The one who conceded 30 isn't Jules by any chance, is it? I hope it isn't, and might go with Mart Poom instead if I'm wrong. Haven't Googled anything, just the first names that came to mind to get the ball rolling. Well done, Vicente Guaita! A promising start, long may it continue!

You are correct re Cech, sir. Alisson is next with 4 Speroni has the worst record for Palace goalkeepers at 19 but there are a few who started with poorer records, including Pickford

The bloke has been our talisman. I am pretty sure that the only time he’s been on a losing side is Chelsea at home and Boro away. (I am not counting Watford as we were one up when he got injured)

He is fortunate not to have followed Speroni. And all the clean sheets would have been down to good defending. I am not saying this is right, it's just how it is on here.

He wasn’t very impressive last night, the third went straight through him at his near post. Wayne would of been hung out to dry for such a basic error, he effectively killed off any chance of us getting a point. He is fairly competent, but not a great keeper by any means.

Didin't move for the first or third and a poor attempt to get to the second. Also, nearly cost us early on when he rushed out and didn't get to Lukaku - same as in the West Ham game. Kicking is also woeful - too much backspin so the ball just hangs in the air. Don't see what RH sees in him.

Shows glimpses of quality but was very poor last night. Would not be surprised to see WH back in goal for Burnley. Poor kicker, likes to flap at crosses like WH and not sure he communicates too well either. Still think this is a position we need to sort out in the summer. Pope at Burnley could be quite an interesting option if Heaton keeps playing well. Not even on the bench Tuesday night and I don't think he is injured?
Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |
