Coral have just tweeted that rather than giving us the whole stand which they would normally, that Watford are only looking to give us 3,100 and keeping the rest of the stand closed? If that is true then they're just giving the squad ammunition to get riled up before hand. Anyone else hearing this?

Surely they'd only do that either because it makes policing easier (is trouble likely? doubtful) or because they intend to sell a second wave of tickets. I can't see that they'd miss out on a bit of revenue just to d*ck Palace fans about would they?!

Yes they would and yes all signs are that is what they are doing Front row is row DD (with wheelchairs in front of that) Get that for normal away games there
They are netting off the front rows despite us never in living memory done a pitch invasion (apart from the pissed bloke at the play off semi in 2006 who ran on and scored with the stray ball while all 22 players were fighting) WFC are small time and know if they give us every seat in that end, that we'll boss it all afternoon

I hope Troy Deeney gets caught in the netting and they leave him there.

On social media, the HF are advertising the singing section as the back of block VRS3. Having looked at their stadium plan this block isn’t usually part of the away section. This suggests that we do have more than usual. This article from the FA website is old but says away fans are entitled up to 15% of the stadium: [Link] Vicarage Road holds 21,577 (Wiki) x15% = 3,236. I don’t think we’re being short changed here. I’d guess the remaining seats in that stand would go to home fans. Surely it will be a sell out.

Away fans usually get 2200 seats in half of the Vicarage Road Stand at Prem games

As you guys might know its very cramped and short of the required facilities in there if its totally filled so maybe there is a safety aspect to this too?

That explanation doesn't particularly make any sense -
But surely it is no less cramped when the stand is split down the middle and one half is full of Watford families, and the other half full with away fans? We've got the whole stand, there won't be a sliver of Watford fans in an end block or anything, so the netting off of so many seats is simply being done to minimise our numbers. Respect for coming on here though, most Watford fans online come across as a right bunch of gimps

At such a crucial game when you know the visiting fans will come and completely take over, outsing you and push their team on to win? They don't want to lose this match as it is, but the fact that it's us... Well, shows they're scared at least

I'm still hoping they'll put more on sale once it sells out. Equally, if we had, say, Wolves in a QF at Selhurst, i might want us to restrict their numbers. I'm also hoping my missus is blagging me about that weekend being a surprise weekend (for my birthday) doing something other than Watford Palace followed by England Scotland. Anything other than that is gonna be one s*** surprise. Well, missing the Palace bit anyway. I'm having to pray that she's talking to friends to secretly sort tickets.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I always thought of Watford as a tin pot club, and this just about confirms it. It is obvious that you are trying to gain an advantage by keeping the noise down, but this smacks of desperation.
