The list of the perennially offended grows ever longer. What was a mildly amusing advert has been interpreted as some kind of hate campaign aimed at people who can't get a boy/girlfriend.

Why the giddy f*ck are the Financial Conduct Authority involved?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

We won two world wars last century.

But some of us ended up breeding such losers.....like whoever complained about a poster like that.

They don't normally as they supervise the process.

Modern advertising.

Create advert
Create controversy/debate about the advert
Brand recognition

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Imagine they are involved for the false statistic rather than the "single shaming" element.

When I was in my second year of singledom some while back, I often found myself feeling ashamed taking a rhythm magazine up to the counter of Circle C to be served by a teenage girl who did everything she could to avoid touching my "w**nk hands". I for one welcome any laws that can be put in place that make the purchase of a ready meal and a fanny pamphlet less taboo.

I don't "get" what the advert is trying to say about why I should choose their banking services.

How did you relieve the tension during the first year, pray tell?

If you buy additional food on your credit card:

a) you'll become more rotund which women tend to prefer because it helps them deal with their own spare tyres

b) you'll not notice the additional cost because you're bunged it all on card and we all know that you never have to pay back card transactions, just the interest

Hmm, perhaps you weren't their demographic.
