Assuming Huddersfield and Fulham are doomed, who is likely to take the third relegation spot? The main contenders are all having good runs. Burnley have taken 12 points from the last 6 matches; Southampton 9, Newcastle 7, Cardiff 7 - the same as us. We do have a four-point cushion over Cardiff, plus a good goal difference, but we are not out of it yet. The interesting side is Brighton, who have only taken 5 from the last 6 matches - and are now only one point ahead of us. The bookies still have Cardiff favourite for the third relegation slot. What does anyone else think?

Our squad is too good to not be in the top ten so the fact we're where we are leaves me worried that we are sleep walking into relegation. Yesterday's result aside, I'm not convinced that we're out of the woods yet. That said, Batshuayi is an excellent short term solution (we're back to square one in the summer) so I think we should have enough fire power now to start to climb. Cardiff on paper, I fancy Burnley for the drop. Luck isn't going their way and that always seems to be a big factor. How many points have they missed due to bad decisions by the ref?

The form of those clubs is a worry, so as Roy says, anxious times. However, Brighton fans should be the most concerned.

I'm not presuming Fulham are relegated. Within a fortnight they could be above us. Huddersfield yes, but Fulham are still in with a bit of a shout.

They're still talking about European football and winning the FA Cup; there's very few concerns in the jewel of the south coast. If they go out of the cup on Wednesday and don't win against Burnley on Saturday though, there may well be tears before bedtime.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

The way they collapsed against Fulham was pathetic and they weren't much better yesterday. Of all the teams down there their form is the worst. They havecsome good players and also some they really overestimate: Dunk and Duffy OG just aren't at the same level as Tomkins and Sakho. It'd be nice to see them go back where they belong.

Unfortunately i can't see them going down. They've got a kind set of fixtures at home which see them play mainly teams in the bottom half of the table.

They were very unlucky not to beat Watford yesterday There’s only 5 points separating them from 18th place with 13 games still to go. I wouldn’t describe the chances of those other teams closing that gap as ‘remote’, especially in view of the form those teams have been showing.
